Dangerous Times

virusThis pretty little organism has been responsible for throwing most of the world out of shape in 2020 and 2021 and continues to make an impact to this day.  Many have questions like "Why did God allow it?".

It is interesting that, with one simple virus, all of the man-made systems that serve us so well during normal times are found to be wanting.  Our ability to work and earn money simply disappeared; our right to travel wherever and whenever we wish - gone;  much of our ability to buy what we want - ended with shortages in the shops.  In a wider sense, many of our great airlines and manufacturing companies, who regularly post profits in the billions, are in desperate danger of collapse; our financial systems and currencies have been damaged in the face of the biggest expenditure in decades; our politics may have changed forever; even our right to health care on demand is in doubt, with world health services overwhelmed.

In fact, all those things on which we rely in everyday life have been found to be wanting in the face of this cute little virus - so small that most of us cannot even see it!  In times of trouble, there is only one thing on which we can totally depend - that will never change, regardless of all that is going on around us - the Word of God.  If we base our life on that, rather than our own intuition or cleverness, we will never fail - that's guaranteed!

God is not taken by surprise and His love for every one of the people that He created has not diminished.  For those who will put their trust in Jesus Christ (instead of governments, science and world councils made up of imperfect men and women) God WILL lead us through every crisis and we have no need for concern.  That's not just theory, that's proven reality for millions of Christians worldwide!

Unfortunately, for those who still think that they know best - you can only hope for the best!

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT)
